SAWMPO Plans & Programs

Effective transportation planning requires research and analysis of current conditions and forecasts based on what may happen in the future. It also requires coordination, cooperation and consensus-building with our partners and the public.

Working with our partners and the public, the SAWMPO develops and maintains three major transportation planning documents: the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). Additional planning studies and programs are prepared and administered on an on-going basis.
