MPO Staff

The day-to-day operations of the SAWMPO are performed by staff of the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission (CSPDC). The staff, in conjunction with the SAWMPO member agencies, collects, analyzes and evaluates demographics, land use, and transportation data to gain a better understanding of the transportation system requirements of the area.

The staff also works to enhance the technical capacity of the planning process and ensures a proactive public involvement process that provides full public access to key decisions in the development of both short- and long-range plans and programs. Staff members participate in all SAWMPO meetings and represent the SAWMPO at other meetings of importance to plan activities within the region.
