VDOT’s Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS) program “develop(s) comprehensive, innovative transportation solutions to relieve congestion bottlenecks and solve critical traffic and safety challenges throughout the Commonwealth. Based on several intersections and segments in the Greenville Avenue (US 11) corridor in the City of Staunton and Augusta County with high Potential Safety Improvement (PSI) scores, VDOT’s Staunton District applied for up to $200,000 to study solutions for the corridor from the Coalter Street intersection to the interchange with Woodrow Wilson Parkway (VA 262). VDOT will partner with the MPO, the City of Staunton, Augusta County, and BRITE Transit on the study.
The Study will begin at the end of October, 2018. STARS studies typically require 9-12 months to complete.
